Sustainable Printing and Responsible Production

Craftsmanship is more than making something look right. It means knowing the materials, understanding the process, and caring about what gets used, what gets wasted, and what happens after the job is done.

At Koke Printing, sustainability lives inside that attention to detail. We make responsible choices because they are part of making good print: using materials thoughtfully, reducing unnecessary waste, choosing processes carefully, and producing work that is made to do its job well.

Know the Material

The more we understand a material, the more clearly we see where care matters. Paper’s weight, grain, fiber, texture, strength, and finish all affect how it performs. Knowing those qualities helps us choose the right material and use it well.

Use It Well

Craftsmanship means paying attention throughout production. Experience helps us plan efficiently, recognize unnecessary waste, and make adjustments without sacrificing quality. Every part of the process should make the material count.

Make It Worth Making

We believe every material in a printed piece should have a reason to be there. That means creating work that is useful, durable, and thoughtfully made to represent our customers well. Quality and sustainability meet when something is made carefully enough to earn its place in the world.

What Responsible Production Looks Like Here.

FIRST IN LANE COUNTY

Our company was the first local printer to meet BRING's RE:think sustainability standards.

100% RECYCLED

All of our aluminum press plates and solution containers are recycled.

2 BIOSWALES

At our Springfield facility, bioswales naturally help filter silt and pollution from parking-lot runoff.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

We purchase renewable energy through Springfield Utility Board.

Materials Matter

Paper is one of the most important material choices we make. Through Koke Printing and the alternative-fiber expertise brought into our company through Hemp Press, we can offer more thoughtful paper choices.

Farm-Grown Plant-Based Fiber

Our plant-based and tree-free paper options use alternative fibers, including hemp, grown as crops rather than relying only on conventional tree fiber.

Responsibility Continues After the Paper Is Chosen.

Recycle What Production Leaves Behind

Production creates material streams of its own, and we pay attention to where they go. Our aluminum press plates and solution containers are recycled, alongside dedicated recycling streams throughout the facility for materials that can stay out of the waste stream.

Choose Better Chemistry

We look at the whole piece, not just the paper underneath it. Our established production practices include soy-based inks in offset work and non-toxic, solvent-free inks in wide-format production. Eligible products can also be produced with compostable inks.

Source With Intention

Where materials come from matters. We work with suppliers and paper partners who give us access to recycled, recyclable, certified, and alternative-fiber options, then help match those materials to the demands of the project.

Smarter Print Planning

Our responsibility does not end with what happens inside the shop. Part of being a good print partner is helping you decide what actually makes sense to produce.

How will the piece be used? How often will the information change? How much inventory is useful? Does everything need to be produced at once, or would a shorter run or repeat-order system make more sense?

Sometimes the smartest answer is a larger run. Sometimes it is printing only what is needed now and producing more later.

The goal is the same: Less obsolete inventory. Less unnecessary waste. Better use of your print budget.

Make Your Next Print Project a Thoughtful One

Good choices start with a conversation. Tell us how your piece will be used, and we’ll help you explore materials, quantities, and production options that make sense for your goals and budget.
